These are raw notes from an experiment with an RTL-SDR and satellite signals.
The initial goal was simple: receive something meaningful from space.
The reality was less romantic.
Most of the time wasn’t spent decoding signals, but dealing with RF noise, bad assumptions, and the environment itself.
Indoors setups, nearby electronics, antenna placement, and expectations turned out to matter more than software or post-processing.
This is not a guide and not a success story.
It’s a record of what I tried, what didn’t work, and what I misunderstood at first.
Before listening to signals, I had to learn how to listen to noise.
